So B. It by Sarah Weeks

Review by Lily Waterhouse

So B. It is a book that you can’t put down once you start. This book was great and I would recommend this book to anyone. It was very adventurous and it’s easy to keep track of and follow along with. This book is about a girl who is taking care of her mother who has Down syndrome and has to deal with the problem that people make fun of her mom and that call her names and make fun of her. She gets frustrated at times because she has to do everything and her mom doesn’t do that much. When the mother gets sick, the girl has to take care of her as if she were a baby. The girl’s father left when she was just a year old and she has never seen him since. She goes on a journey by herself, taking a bus down to different cities trying to find him, but has no luck. While she is gone, her mother gets sick and calls the neighbor to help her, but her neighbor is a drug addict and a heavy alcoholic and she wasn’t much help. When she arrives back home, her mother has passed away and now she is all alone.

This book is for anyone, no matter which gender you are. If you like books that are happy and make you cry a lot, then this is the right book for you. It is my favorite and I could read it over and over again. Again like I said I would recommend this book for anyone and I would encourage anyone from ages 10 and up to read this. I’d rate this book 5 out of 5 stars! It is the BEST!! :)

WILLOW by Julia Hoban

Book review by Mariela Weaver

Willow seems like your everyday love story, but it has a twist. Willow is a girl who lost her parents in a car accident because they were drinking a little bit too much and she had to drive them home. Even though she was lucky enough to be the only one that survived, she doesn't feel lucky. Willow now is forced to live with her older brother who barely talks to her. Now here’s the twist: she cuts herself to numb the pain of all the hurtful memories of her parents. She ends up meeting this guy (named Guy) who she eventually falls for. Will Guy heal all her pain? Will Willow stop cutting for her own sake? Read Willow and find out for yourself!!!!!!

Betrayed

This book review was written by one of our teen volunteers!

Betrayed: A House of Night Novel
by P. C. Cast

Like vampyres and hard times? Well Betrayed is the book for you. Betrayed is about a high school girl named Zoey. She has recently been chosen to be a vampyre, and discovers powers she didn’t know she had. She finds friends in enemies and also finds horrible things are going on at her school.

As she goes, she finds her parents want to have nothing to do with her. She discovers feelings and lusts she would have never expected. In the end she gets closer to her group of friends and even gets great responsibilities for her good doings.

If you think you that sounds like a good read, Betrayed and the whole House of Night series is for you!
